Biography of Author Jon Karakauer
The author of Into The Wild is Jon Krakauer. He was born on April 12, 1954, in Brookline, Massachusetts. Though he grew up in Oregon. As a child he began learning how to mountain climb at 8 years old, he really must enjoy being in the outdoors. He attended Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts. In 1977 he pioneered up a new route up The Devils Thumb in southeast Alaska, and in 1996 he reached the top of Mt. Everest. He journeyed up Mt. Everest with four other friends, who died on the descent down the mountain. After that trip he then wrote about it for Outside magazine and in his book Into The Air. That was the start of his book writing career and later on became a journalist in the New York Times, the Washington Post, Time Smithsonian, National Geographic, and lots more. After all of his time as a journalist he then decided to write a book Called Into The Wild. Which I will be reading and discussing on my blog later on. Thanks for reading and I will keep you updated for when I read again. http://www.cliffsnotes.com/literature/i/into-the-wild/jon-krakauer-biography
