I just started reading some background on Into The Wild. The book is about retracing the steps of a young man, Christopher McCandless who decided one day that he wanted to go off and explore the back woods of Alaska. It seems kind of strange because he didn't really seem to have a good plan to survive in the woods of Alaska, and it turns out that he only lasted three months into his ascension. According to the article Christopher McCandless survived a little over a hundred days and was found dead in a bus that he was staying in.
